Mitch

Eeek! Sorry I’m about a week out of date with this one….nevertheless..

Dom has posted another blog on his myspace, entitled “Mitch”.

Mitch Mitchell’s death this week is a terrible loss. He was a truly inspiring drummer that had such a great unique style from mixing jazz influences with rock a roll to create something that was the perfect complement to Hendrix’s genius.

A sad loss from a legendary musician. RIP.

Here are a few classic performances to remember him by..

Dom has left another blog on his myspace page commenting on the recent American Presidential Election:

Hi,

Another eventful week.
Thank god Obama is in. Its now America’s chance for a clean slate and to wipe off that jaded war riddled joke that was the last eight years. Best news in a long time..
This album, or whatever it may be or called these days, is definitely shaping up. Matt has done some really great string arranging that makes you want to cry or laugh, be happy or sad. It has a lot of emotion that makes me feel all these things at once. But maybe Im weird.. I just like it a lot and this is without vocals yet.
We’re heading to the studio next week to get this thing started whist wearing the production hat. Hopefully the three of us can sail this piece in the right direction, or any direction and not around in circles for too long.
Its exciting to do this one in our own place with our own gear and in our own time; but we’re still hoping to get a lot of spontaneity into this record which will feel refreshing.

Cheers,

Dom.

Website Down

Hey all!

As you may or may not have been aware, musedrums was temporarily suspended for the past couple of weeks due to the excessive traffic it receives!

Lots of traffic is brilliant, and shows the success of the website and so I’d like to say a massive thank you for that!

However, excessive traffic means that the free server I use reaches its traffic limit quickly therefore gets suspended. It may happen again this month!

As a student (and in times of financial worry) I am unable to pay for a dedicated server and so rely on free ones like the one I’m using at the moment. However, free ones have these limitations.

I’ve found a new free server package with a bit more traffic allowance and so will be transferring the whole website as soon as I can to that one - however moving a whole website and it’s adjoining database may take a while and it may all go wrong! eek!

So I ask for your patience and hope I can get this sorted soon, but please bear with me as it may take some time.

Thank you again for your support, and I promise that there are some more videos coming soon!

Take care!

Adam

Dom on Myspace

In the past week, Dom has posted a couple of blogs on his myspace page!

Hi guys,

Just thought I’d try and breath a little life back into this page and post an update.
Anyway, we’re back in Devon working on a symphonic monster among other things and should hopefully start a bit of real recording in a couple of weeks. Definitely excited and already looking forward to playing this stuff on the road next year..
Its nice to be back down here working on music together which is something we haven’t done for a very long time. Maybe about 8 years!.. Jesus, Its been too long. So we’ve been retracing some old steps and remembering where we came from.
There has also been another addition to the Wolstenholme family. Hopefully they will start their own band one day…

Cheers,

Dom.

What a media farce this all is. This is a prime example of the way media can make people completely delusional to simple facts and roller coaster out of control.
The fact that Russell has been forced to resign is just as ridiculous as the line of OAP’s that were lined up outside the BBC ready to complain about what was said. Now Im not prejudice against the older generation, or anyone in fact; wisdom comes with age, but I imagine the 25,000 people that complained didn’t listen to the show, know what was said or are part of any computer literate generation that could actually find out what was really said.

I think its quite funny and what the media seems to have missed is that the whole piece is full of apology. Most comedy is based on piss taking anyway. I’ve never met Russell but think i’d probably like him if i did, so it seems a shame for it to be mostly pinned on him.
This kind of delusion draws parallels to the US elections where there seems to be more emphasis on personality attacks through ads than listening to what is being said. Like that crazy uneducated racist buffoon at the McCain conference that said she can’t trust Obama because she thought he was an Arab. Pure madness.. There is a clear age divide between these two as well, but we all know what will be best for the world..
